1- Observation
The observation phase is the very first step to the design of a product. Indeed, you first need to identify the consumers' needs before being able to answer them.
Sophie, the product manager, identifies a need then goes to the field for user observation, accompanied by the product ingenieur and the designer in order to develop the product specifications.
This observation under real conditions allows the team to test backpacks from the competition, to observe users, their habits, their gear and thus upgrade the specifications.
Back in the office, Mélanie the designer, draws the first drawings of the futur backpack. Next comes an expert to make the very first prototype called "monster" in Decathlon mountain brands headquarters in the Mont-Blanc valley.
